Olivia “Rox Watch” – Oscar Best Dressed List
…And Our pick for the Oscars 2018 It Girl!
From the Oscars 2018, Live from the Dolby Theatre on Sunday evening for the 90th annual Academy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
This post is co-written by Tamara Van Cleef (aka Mama Rox) – She loves the Academy Awards so much that they are literally a religious holiday for her!!! 🙂
Allison Janney is wearing a bright red dress by Reem Acra, with floor length sleeves and a matching clutch. This silhouette could only be pulled off by a very tall and statuesque figure – so it was perfect for Allison who is 6’ tall! (Olivia says) Shout out to my fellow 6’ girl club! 🙂
And, oh – that diamond necklace! Get this… She’s wearing a grand total of 128 carats! Her jewels for this very special evening equal a cool $4 million! Her jewels are by Forevermark diamonds, who help to support women’s health & education programs in their diamond producing communities. Congratulations on your first Oscar for Best Supporting actress in I, Tonya! Well Deserved Allison!
Gal Gadot is a Goddess as beautiful as Aphrodite herself in a silver long flapper-esque dress by Givenchy Haute Couture. Absolutely stunning! Gal is so well put together as always. Topping it all off, is a perfectly placed necklace by Tiffany & Co Blue Book Jewels with 61 carats! Wonder Woman Rocks! Literally!
Margot Robbie, the best actress nominee, was looking very sweet and angelic in Chanel Haute Couture. Custom made by Karl Lagerfeld himself! It took his team over 500 hours to make! After all, Margot is Chanel’s new ambassador! We just love her blunt cut bob and clean make up, that let her natural beauty shine through. She emanates classic Hollywood. And, ohh – we both really want that clear plastic Chanel clutch! So adorable!
Zendaya? She’s tall like me – 5’11”, and she looks like a Roman or Greek Goddess! She is stunning in a one shouldered, chocolate chiffon gown by Giambattista Valli. Her styling team rocks. Not a hair out of place. And the head to toe Bvlgari jewels aren’t so bad either. 🙂
The Jane the Virgin star, Gina Rodriguez, hit the red carpet in a stunning pale pink sparkly dress by Zuhair Murad. She is always so happy and bubbly, and we think that’s what makes her so beautiful. 🙂
Jennifer Lawrence is looking very Oscar like in a gunmetal gold sequin dress by Dior. Her Au nautural, beachy hair & cat eye makeup hit the bullseye of the hip, young Hollywood actress that she is.
Black Panther’s Lupita Nyong’o is looking very regal in a sashed gold and black dress by Atelier Versace. Winning our vote for the next Queen of Wakanda! 😉
Allison Williams from Get Out (which had 4 nominations) arrived in a blush pink & sparkly fairytale dress by Armani Prive. (Olivia says) One day I hope I’ll get to wear a princess dress like this one!! 🙂
Greta Gerwig is channeling old Hollywood in a yellow dress that really popped in a sea of black and red – The Lady Bird director hit the Oscars red carpet in a mustard yellow Rodarte gown, styled by Cristina Ehrlich, which she paired with a bright red lip. Greta’s also making history tonight as the fifth woman to be nominated for best director in Oscars history. Girl Power!
Emily Blunt who looks absolutely whimsical, romantic and sensational in a high-neckline, Victorian-inspired, duck egg blue gown with tulle shoulders. It also featured a frilly white bodice detailing and a long, dramatic train. Emily was very pretty indeed in Schiaparelli Couture. Mary Poppins meets modern day.
Honorable mention goes to Rita Mureno who was wearing the very same dress that she wore to the Academy Awards, when she won her Oscar in 1962, and she looks more beautiful today than she did 56 years ago!!! 👏🏻 Bravo Rita!
And, It’s necessary to mention one more legend, the incredible, red carpet veteran, Jane Fonda, looking effervescent and ageless in a white column Balmain gown… And that white clutch by Salvatore Ferragamo – we both want one! Wow she is so impressive! We really hope to look that good when we’re 80! 🙂
TARAJI P. HENSON
For the Rockin vote: Taraji P. Henson takes the win!! Her black dress reflects that “fear does not exist in her Universe”! (Love that quote from her!)
Fierce Hair Award: Our girl!!!! The fearless Michonne from Walking Dead, (Which, BTW – CARL!!!!!) and now Black Panther star Danai Gurira’s looked absolutely gorgeous with her African ancestral tribal art-inspired hairstyle – which was such a culturally significant statement, and TBH just so bad @$$!
Oscar’s 2018 It Girl….
And last but definitely not least… Out of the incredible girls listed above… here’s our pick for the “Oscar’s 2018 It Girl”!
Based on inner beauty and the whole package… This is a tough one, but we think it has to go to IT GIRL Gal Gadot! I mean how adorable was she when she joined in with Jimmy Kimmel as they took a group of stars across the street from the Oscars ceremony to a movie theater! It was the ultimate “thank you” to movie-goers around the world, and they literally surprised the audience with snacks and stars! She seemed so genuinely happy to be there, as she beamed with her little basket of goodies to pass out. Well done Gal!
That’s it for today!!
Love, Tamara (Mama Rox) & Olivia 🙂
P.S. I’ll be in the studio recording over the next few weeks, so I may not be able to post… But I’ll be back as soon as I can!! 🙂
